NEULOOM’s story is rooted in Bhadohi, one of the world’s largest handmade carpet-weaving clusters, nestled in Uttar Pradesh along the banks of the Ganga. For over 500 years, generations of Bhadohi artisans have transformed raw wool into remarkable handmade rugs, carrying their craftsmanship to homes across the United States, Europe, and the Gulf. Behind NEULOOM is a three-generation connection to this remarkable craft.
For us, a rug is never just a product. It is a connection between the hands that weave it, the rhythm of the loom, and the home where it finally finds its place.
NEULOOM’s perspective is shaped by an understanding of both Bhadohi’s weaving traditions and the global home furnishings market. Looking closely at how handmade rugs travel from the loom in Bhadohi to homes around the world revealed a clear gap in the traditional supply chain.
Between the artisan who creates a rug and the customer who brings it home, there can be 4 to 6 layers of intermediaries, each adding a margin, while the people behind the craftsmanship receive only a fraction of the final value.
That gap was impossible to ignore.
